Why Farms?
Broken Barns is a collection of Midwestern landscapes—fields, skies, and small collapsing barns standing as quiet witnesses to the passage of time. These are not polite pastoral scenes, but places with backbone and memory, places where the land itself takes center stage. Each weathered structure hints at the systems and sanctuaries once built with conviction—governments, churches, families, committees—now trembling under their own weight.
Yet the fields remain steady. Soil stays faithful. It makes room for roots, insists on new growth, and waits patiently for rain and tending hands. Midwesterners have long romanticized farming because it offers a kind of creation story: ordinary people coaxing life from stubborn ground with faith, labor, and a hope that the weather cooperates. Barns may lean and fall, but when the soil is sound, resilience rises. Beauty come from broken places—it always has.
Materials & Presentation:
This piece is created with vibrant acrylic paint and layered collage on a deep-edge canvas. You will find the surface to be textured and may include multiple varieties of paper and/or fabric. It’s finished with a protective satin varnish for just the right amount of glow. The sides are painted, no frame needed. But if you’re feeling fancy, you can easily find a ready-made float frame online by searching “canvas float frame.” The back is ready with hanging hardware, so it’s gallery-ready the moment it arrives at your door.

Shipping & Handling:
At this time, shipping is available within the 48 contiguous U.S. states (sorry international friends—tariffs are being especially spicy right now). Your art will ship via UPS Ground within 3–5 business days of purchase and should arrive roughly a week after it hits the road.
Heads-up: No PO Boxes, please! UPS won’t deliver to them, and I won’t ship original artwork through USPS. If you only have a PO Box, please use a trusted friend or family member’s street address instead. I appreciate your understanding!

-I do not offer refunds or exchanges.
-I do not alter or consolidate shipping information after you have submitted it, please enter your address carefully and if you want items shipped together, order them together.
