DISCO CHICKENS ARE BACK!
Charlene is a chicken of classic taste. She loves a good book, hazelnut coffee, and watching old movies with real buttered popcorn. Sometimes her husband accuses her of being gossip, but Charlene tells him to mind his own business and that she is just sharing information out of “concern.” Charlene is a thoughtful chicken. When she isn’t volunteering at the local hospital, she makes sandwiches for the older folks in her neighborhood. Cranberry sandwiches on wonder bread with perfectly round slices of canned cranberry. Clever Charlene uses the empty can to cut circles in the middle of the bread, then slathers both sides with mayonnaise before adding the cranberry slice in the center, wraps them in wax paper squares. She calls the sandwiches “crannies” or sometimes, “crannies for grannies” which nobody appreciates, but Charlene.
Materials: Mixed media painted collage; acrylic paint, ink, 24k gold leaf, archival glue, gel medium, birch board.
